William E. Perreault, 93, of Maple Court in Danielson, CT, was the beloved husband of the late Alice R. (Filiatreault) Perreault, died Saturday, April 12, 2025 at William W. Backus Hospital.
Mr. Perreault was born May 26, 1931 in Pascoag, RI, a son of the late Antonio and Eva (Rousseau) Perreault.
On July 23, 1960, he married Alice R Filiatreault in All Hallows Church, Moosup, CT. She predeceased him in 2014. He was a resident of Moosup for 65 years. He enjoyed playing cards and vacationing with his family throughout the 50 United States as well as other countries.
Mr. Perreault was employed for 35 years at Kaman Aerospace, Moosup, as a senior group leader in the Spares Packaging Department, retiring in 1993. After retirement from Kaman, he worked part-time for 8 years at Benny's Auto in Danielson, CT.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving as staff sergeant. He received the European Occupation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with Carbine Bar, the United Nation Korean Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two stars, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon and the Republic of Korea Korean War Service Medal. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 through 1955.
Mr. Perreault was a communicant of All Hallows Church, Moosup, a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #270 in Moosup. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council #383 in Pascoag, RI, and former member of the Pascoag, RI Volunteer Fire Company. He also was a manager of a Little League team in Moosup and was on the committee of the Boy Scout Troop #340 in Wauregan, CT. He received his State High School Equivalency GED Diploma in 1972.
He is survived by his three children, Therese Segrave and husband Wayne of Sterling, David Perreault of Eastford, and Jane Watson and husband Raymond of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Joseph Perreault of Brooklyn, Alicia Mercurio and her husband David of Westerly, RI, and Patrick Watson of Plainfield; one great-grandson Leonardo Mercurio; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Beatrice Bishop and Doris McCarthy; and two brothers, Robert Perreault and Donald Perreault.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd, Plainfield. A gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in All Hallows Church, Moosup, CT.
