The Nicest, the Best and the Right.
When things got too loud inside (Delta Cir) and I was scared, you took me outside and played marbles with me by the big tree in the middle of the backyard. You did the nicest thing.
When the Walkup boys didn´t want me to play basketball, baseball or football, you said you wouldn´t play unless they let me play too. I played. You did the nicest thing.
I can still hear you and Loretta singing Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire that special Christmas Eve... what I´d give to have that cassette tape. It was the best thing.
When your old business partners cheated and did wrong things for more money, you refused to go along and left the firm. You did the right thing.
When Will was so sick in the hospital, we got in contact again after a hiatus. We prayed like crazy and cried and prayed some more. You were with Will every second you could be. You did the best thing.
You were generous with your love and good will. My God you were so talented, smart, witty and funny.
Even though I believe that when you left this life, God knew what he was doing, this belief won´t change my mourning you. I can barely function. I´m frozen in my despair.
I´m not mad at you or God for your leaving. I love you Bill. But my heart is broken which is I guess is a testament to how much you´ve always meant to me.

I met Bill during my last semester at UNCC, he was my mentor at Lott Constructors. In short time I realized what a genuinely wonderful, kind, and intelligent person Bill was. It was during the same period that I was sharing a beer with Bill afterwork, where I met my wife (now of 29 years); I have always credited Bill with this chance encounter that would change my life forever. Bill was a groomsman in our wedding and gave one of the best toasts I have ever heard. All who met Bill couldn't help but be enamored with his charming personality and his ability to give selflessly to anyone in need. I lost touch with Bill over the years, but my heart, like so many others, are incredibly saddened by this news. RIP Bill, you will be truly missed.

May he rest in the peace of the Lord, and may those who loved him be comforted by the memories of the joys you shared with him. Amen

I can barely express the enormous hole in my heart and my life over Bill not being here. He's been the 'aurora borealis' in so many people's lives. Words can't express how much I love this guy. Fully ineffable.
