William P. “Billy” Potocki
Age 55, of New Lenox, IL passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. Billy was born in Blue Island, IL to the late Paul Sr. and Carlene (nee Sanders) Potocki.
Loving brother of Richard (Teresa) Potocki, the late Paul Potocki Jr., Michael (Patricia) Potocki, and Jacqueline Potocki; loved uncle of Kristin, Rick, Carolynn, Lydia, Michael Jr., Keith, Myles and Keira; cherished great uncle to Leo, Lily and Genevieve. Billy had such a close relationship with all his cousins, nothing made him happier than spending time with all of them. Billy was a genuine friend to so many.
Billy dedicated his life to Emergency Services, serving as Deputy Director / Chief of Operations at the Village of New Lenox Emergency Services and Disaster Agency. He was whole-heartedly committed to the community and hometown of New Lenox. Billy was a 20-year, expert HVAC service technician. He always was available in the middle of the night, in the worst weather conditions, whenever a friend was in need and he could fix anything.
He was a huge fan of Star Trek / Captain Kirk, truly a “Trekkie” and a Chicago Bears fan. He also loved to karaoke, crooning his favorite classic songs of Frank Sinatra and Billy Joel. Billy was a selfless, dedicated, devoted, caring and giving person with a larger-than-life sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox, IL.
