William “Bill” P. Power Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Carmel, IN, passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born in Worcester, MA, on February 24, 1947, to parents William P. Power Sr. and Dorothy (Northridge) Power. Bill excelled in multiple sports throughout his childhood, but he made his biggest mark in the New England tennis community. Bill won father-son doubles competitions with his father Bill Sr., with whom he was at one time ranked fourth nationally. Upon graduating from Oyster River High School in Durham, NH, Bill played tennis at Louisiana State University. He then worked as a tennis pro before going on to build a career in sales of sporting goods. Bill lived in Carmel, IN for 45 years, where he raised his family and avidly supported the Colts. He was friendly, gregarious, and built many relationships through his ability to make people laugh.

He is survived by daughters, Amy (Power) Copithorne and her husband Peter, Lindsey (Power) Paquette and her husband Patrick, Kylie (Power) Szaronos and her husband Adam; six grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, and Matthew Paquette, and Vivian, Adalyn, and Isla Szaronos; his former wife, Linda Power; siblings, Nancy Gill and her husband Joseph, Ellen Barry and her husband Philip, and Susan Tanner and her husband Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, an organization that was always close to Bill’s heart.

A Family Celebration of Life will be held in summer 2025.
