William Frank Price, Jr.

William Frank “Pete” Price, Jr., age 87, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025.

Born on August 23, 1938, in Peachland, North Carolina, Pete was the son of the late Addie and William Frank Price. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2025, in the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home. Pastor Jamie Gulledge will officiate the ceremony, with burial to take place at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshville, NC. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Pete proudly served his country for eight and a half years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he worked as an auctioneer for 20 years and later spent many years as a truck driver. He also served his community as mayor of Mount Croghan for one term. Pete enjoyed fishing and farming and had a special affection for his cats, Tiger and Goldie. He was a longtime member of Brocks Mill Baptist Church and was known by all as a loving father, grandfather, and friend who truly never met a stranger. In his downtime, he loved watching his favorite television shows, The Andy Griffith Show and Sanford and Son.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Elizabeth Price, and his sister, Lois Timmons.

He is survived by his children, Brenda (Ronnie) Price Bentley of Lenoir, NC; William K. “Slick” (Teresa) Price of Ruby, SC; Kathy (Lonnie) Bentley of Lenoir, NC, and James William "Bill" Price of Mt. Croghan, SC; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Heather Short and her family, along with Amy Sellers, for the special love and kindness shown to Pete.
