William I. Rawlings Sr., lifelong resident of Mayo, MD, died at home on September 8, 2024. He was born June 18, 1932, in Annapolis, MD to the late Tilghman Sr. and Ruth Rawlings. He was an avid waterman who loved to fish and crab.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Louise; his daughter, Rita Katherine Anderson and his brother, Tilghman "Bootsie" Jr. He is survived by his sons, William "Billy" Rawlings ( Glenda), Wayne Rawlings( Mary) and Kevin Sr. (Sharon); his daughters, Linda Senft and her late husband, Dannie Senft and Hope Hallock (Rusty); his brother, Robert "Bep" Rawlings and his 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to celebrate William's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Monday, September 16, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, at 11 am at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
