William Reeves Reedy Jr. passed away at home on March 11th surrounded by his family. He had a passion for woodworking, enjoyed lending a hand on family construction projects, and never turned down a good game of spades or a Swiss cake roll. Above all, his greatest joy was spoiling his loved ones.
A proud Army Ranger in the 173rd Airborne division and Vietnam veteran, he was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his service in defense of our nation. After leaving the Army, he continued serving his country as a civilian at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Beyond his military service, he was an athlete, provider, protector, and master craftsman, always willing to share his knowledge and skills with others.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Clark Reedy. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Woods Reedy; his five daughters and their spouses: Jennifer and Christopher Knoll, Kristi and Bryan Cornell, Shannon and Roy Idzik, Stephanie and the late Rick Clore, and Jacqueline and Dean Fischer. More than anything, he cherished his grandchildren: Caroline Idzik, Payden Knoll, CJ Knoll, Claire Cornell, Hailey Cornell Williams, Ryan Clore, Jacob Gaskill, and Amanda Gaskill.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13 from 6 to 8 PM at Evans Funeral Home at 3 Newport Drive, Forest Hill, MD 21050. Funeral services begin at 10 AM on Friday, March 14 at Evans and proceed to Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
