William R. Robinson

William "Bill" R. Robinson, age 82, of Allendale, NJ, died unexpectedly on Tuesday January 3, 2023. Born on June 16, 1940, in Wichita Falls, TX to Russell and Elizabeth Robinson, Bill was the youngest of three children. Bill graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and then went on to serve in the US Army for 4 years from 1963-66, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Following in the footsteps of his late brother, he pursued a law degree at SMU before switching career paths and enrolling at Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management where he earned his master's degree. Upon graduating, Bill joined Chase Manhattan Bank for 30 years working and living, at times, internationally. Upon leaving Chase, Bill joined SI Bank and Trust for 7 years before retiring to spend time with his family in 2006. Bill was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey, NJ for 29 years.
Bill lived in Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and St. Maarten before ultimately settling in Allendale, NJ where he resided for 38 years. While living overseas, Bill met his beloved wife Soo whom he married in 1975 and celebrated 47 years of marriage.
Bill was a loving husband and devoted father who always put his family first. He loved spending time with his family, celebrating special occasions, and traveling and vacationing together. He also loved reading books, watching sports, exercising outdoors, spending time with friends, going to church, and was an avid golfer who never passed up an opportunity to play. Wherever he was, Bill had the ability to forge new friendships and create lasting bonds.
Bill is survived by his wife Soo and his sons Christopher and Michael, nephew Edward Robinson and his wife Laura, niece Paula Fitzgerald and her husband Tim along with their three children (Carolyn Harper and her husband Nicholas and their two children Fitz Ryan and Elizabeth Ann), Nathan and Jason, nephew Brad Prickett and his wife Ronna along with their son Russell Prickett and his wife Gina and their two children Walker and Graham. Bill is predeceased by his parents Russell and Elizabeth Robinson, brother Larry Robinson and his wife Lynn, and sister Carol Ann Prickett and her husband Jim.
Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will forever be in our hearts as we were in his.
