1936-2025
William Richard Rollo, 88, of East Milton, passed away on January 4, 2025. Richard was born and raised on Blackwater Bay. He was the oldest of four children born to William J. "Bill" Rollo of Milton and Mary Esma "Bobbie" Nolan Rollo of Gueydan, LA.
Richard loved to buy and sell property, fish and oyster hunt with his sons in Alabama, play his guitar with his grandson, and cheer for the Florida Gators. Later in life, when he was blessed with little people who called him "Papa", he enjoyed teaching them to swim, ski and fish in Blackwater Bay, gig for flounder, scull a boat, and hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert N. Rollo and Clinton T. Rollo; his sister, Linda Lee Smith; his sons, James Rollo and Steven B. Rollo; and his daughter-in-law, Pam Rollo.
Survivors include: his wife, Gloria Richardson Rollo; his children: Terri W. Hamilton (Dale), Lisa W. Preston, Christopher K. Walters (Dawn), and Jeffrey Rollo; sisters-in-law, Darlene Coverdale and Luverne Richardson; and brothers-in-law: Jack Coverdale, Murray Richardson, and Eddie Smith. Additionally, he was "Papa" to eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: David Phillips, Dink Helms, Jerry Mitchell, Gene Dees, Jimmy Powell, Robert McClure, Phil Rollo, and Bill Harp.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. all on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
