Donna Carlene Rollo, 82, a long-time resident of Pleasant View, Utah, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, early on October 7, 2025, at Fairfield Village in Layton, of natural causes.
Born in Ogden, Utah on May 12, 1943, Carlene was the middle of three children of James Carl and Thora Cleone Peterson Phillips. Raised and schooled in Ogden, Carlene graduated from Ogden High School Class of 1961.
After graduation, she married Dale Alden Rollo, and they were later sealed in the Ogden Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They later divorced.
Carlene worked for the IRS as a mail clerk and worked her way up to Systems Analyst, 46 years under her belt when she retired at age 72. At one point she moved to Washington, D.C., to work in the national office for IRS, which she did for 5 years, later transferring to Dallas, Texas, and returning to Ogden in 1995 to be closer to her growing number of grandbabies.
In addition to her notable career, she was a dedicated and accomplished mother and grandmother. She also loved her fur babies, Ruger, Stuwart, Tofey, Buckwheat, and Sage.
Carlene enjoyed skiing, golfing, bowling, playing the drums (she was in the marching band in high school), riding horses, and playing pinochle with the neighbor ladies. She kept up her yard exceptionally well.
Carlene was known for always being super sweet. She will also be remembered for her generosity, loving kindness, dependability, independence, and for her incredible work ethic.
Carlene was a member of the Pleasant View 17th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many callings. She enjoyed teaching in the Mutual program of the Church, also in Primary, and her most recent calling was as Relief Society Secretary.
Carlene served as the Treasurer for her HOA Association.
Carlene is survived by her beautiful daughters, Sheri D. Weaver, Layton, and Wendi A. Jackson, Hooper; by four grandchildren, Dustin Treseder, Shaylee Jackson, Marina Jackson, and Mason Weaver; and by her niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by both of her sisters, Judy Hansen and Linda Shroll; and by her nephew, Ronald Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 North, North Ogden.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Fairfield Village and Inspiration Hospice, for their loving and tender care of Mom, with particular thanks to Angie and Dalys.
