Greece: Suddenly, Monday, September 29, 2025, at age 70. Predeceased by his wife, Christine Rookey (nee Richardson). He is survived by his children, William E. Rookey, Joseph Rookey, Elyssa Rookey and husband, Justin Walford; grandchildren, Devin and Ashton Rookey-Zimmer, Andrea Rookey, Sean Rookey, Jacob Rookey, and Lily Rookey; great grandson, Theodore Bernier; mother, Shirley Rookey; brothers and sister, Francis and Martha Rookey, Bonnie Sue and Don Matthews, and Kevin Rookey; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
After moving to Rochester from Canton, NY, William (Bill) worked with pride at Eastman Kodak Company for 44 years, even joining their softball and floor hockey teams in the 70s. He was an avid sports fan playing baseball, softball, hockey (ice and floor), joining fantasy sports leagues for decades. Bill was also active in all his children's sports coaching baseball and was co-president of Greece Cobras travel soccer club. He enjoyed photography and cooking but ultimately his family was his first love. Bill loved his family being a beloved son and brother, a doting husband, and a wonderful and supportive father. He gave his love to his grandchildren and newest great-grandson the most being a very involved and kind grandpa.
