Mr. Sims is survived by his wife, Catherine Ashworth Sims; son, Taylor Sims of Dahlonega; daughter, Ella Fields (Jackson) of Jefferson; granddaughter, Erin Fields; and sister, Sally Gibby of Douglasville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 12th from 11AM till 12:45 PM. There will be a private family graveside service that will take place on Thursday.
The family has requested to omit flowers and donations be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce is in charge of arrangements.
