William V. Smith, 87, of Venice, FL and formerly of Hinckley, OH passed away on February 24, 2023 in Venice, FL. He was born on September 13, 1935 in Cleveland, OH to the parents of Arthur and Elsie Vondrasek Smith. Bill worked in Card Production for American Greetings Corporation for 42 years and retired in 1996. He enjoyed spending his time with his family, trap shooting, bowling, and power boating.
Bill is survived by his wife Joan Smith of Venice, FL; children, Carol Johson of Euclid, OH, Daniel (Lisa) Smith of Hinckley, OH, and Robert (Pam) Smith of Hinckley, OH; grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Devin Johnson, Maria Smith, Melissa (Smith) Dennis; great-grandchildren, Posey Johnson, Marigold Johnson, and Zoey Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Matthew Smith; mother, Elsie Vondrasek Smith; and brother Arthur Smith.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Cleveland, OH. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is in charge of arrangements.
