William Theodore Soder

William "Bill" Theodore Soder was raised in West Terre Haute, Indiana, among a household filled with five sisters. His determination to excel in both academics and athletics set the foundation for a remarkable life. He graduated from Loyola University and went on to study law in Chicago. Bill enjoyed a successful career at IBM and founded his own company, ATI, where he made significant contributions to the development of OCR technology for Columbia House and other companies in Indiana and the Chicago area.
An elite athlete, Bill played minor league baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies, and his passion for sports remained a lifelong pursuit. He was celebrated for his athletic achievements and instilled that love of sports in his children and grandchildren.
Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, sibling, uncle, and friend to many across Indiana, Illinois, and beyond. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Soder; his sisters, Kathy Tevlin and Trina Huey; his children, Kristie Soder, Carrie Soder, and Bill Soder; and his step-children and grandchildren, Thomas and Elizabeth (Kwiatkowski) Tomsheck (Anna, Tom, and John); Christopher and Eileen (Collins) Tomsheck (Winnie, Charlie, and Henry); Heather Rogers (Kaitlyn and Michael); and Brian and Jen (Dainton) Tomsheck (Finn and Fletcher).
A visitation for William T. Soder will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at 10:30 AM at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sister Paulanne's Needy Family Fund or a charity of your choice. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
