William "Bill" Spidel, age 62, of Charlotte passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Savior on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek. Bill was born November 9, 1961, in Hastings the son of Eugene Spidel and Ellen May Shepard. He graduated from Olivet High School in 1979. Bill was a talented woodworker and made many family heirlooms for those he loved most. He loved his family with a deep devotion and held a special place in his heart for his cherished grandchildren. Bill's earthly struggles are now over and he is resting in the loving presence of his Heavenly Father.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Shasta (Tyler) McLeod of Charlotte; grandchildren, Sunny, Joseph, Taylor Rose; parents, Mel and Ellen Pruden of Charlotte; siblings, Ron Pruden of Charlotte, Mark (Nikki) Pruden of Charlotte, Debbie (Cliff) Casler of Charlotte, Shelly Brooks of Lansing, Richard (Nancy) Pruden of Eaton Rapids; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Spidel and niece, Stacey Nicole Pruden.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11 A.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop celebrating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery.
