William (Bill) Joseph Staas Republic, Missouri passed away at the Missouri Veterans home in Mount Vernon, Missouri on August 4, 2022
He was born to James and Francis Staas in Wishart Missouri on April 3, 1937.
The sixth of eleven children, the oldest son.
He was preceded in death by both parents, sisters Mary, Virginia, Betty, Judy, Linda and brother Roy. His wife and mother of his children Lucille (Graves) Staas also precede him in death.
He is survived by Sisters Ruth, Jean, Dorothy Sue and Debby (Bob).
Longtime companion Dina.
His children Doug, Denise and Ron (Terry)
Grandchildren Amy (Terry), Geoffrey, Bill (Avy) and Lauren
4 great grandchildren
Bill was a dutiful son, engaged brother, loyal husband, awesome dad, loving grandfather. He was proud of his 23 years of Air Force service and his continued Air Force service as a federal employee.
The Air Force Career allowed Bill and Lucille to live all over the world with their family. Texas, Greenland, Kansas, California, Illinois, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Turkey and Missouri provided an exciting life and many travels.
He was also proud of his hillbilly and Ozark family heritage that left him with the lifelong principles of honesty, responsibility, respect, accountability, loyalty, kindness, trustworthiness, compassion, empathy, and the peacefulness of enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
Pall Bearers: Ron Staas, Doug Staas, Geoffrey Munoz, Chance Norris, Daniel Staas, Gene Swisher, Les McDaniel.
Visitations will be at Meadors Funeral home in Republic, Missouri, at 11:00 August 08, 2022,
With a service following at 11:30 AM.
Graveside services with full military honors at 11:00 AM on August 09, 2022, at Knob Noster, Missouri cemetery.
