William Clyde Stanford

William Clyde Stanford passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Weatherford, Texas. William was born on July 11, 1948, in Dallas, Texas to George Stanford and Sarah Powell Stanford. He proudly served his country by joining the United States Air Force and serving during the Vietnam Era. This grew his passion for aviation which turned into a career as an aircraft mechanic. William had a love for guns and was a member of the NRA. In fact, there were times that if he didn't know anyone was watching, he might be caught in front of the mirror practicing his quick draw. William was an avid John Wayne fan and was very proud of his western wear. Putting on his cowboy boots was something he took great pride in. He sure loved all things Texas, including the Texas Rangers baseball team. If you were to call William up during baseball season, it was likely that you would hear the hootin' and hollerin' in the background as he and his family watched the games.
William is survived by his wife, Era Mae Stanford; daughter, Suzanne Penn and husband, Jody Penn; son, Matthew Stanford; brother, Larry Stanford, and wife, Kathleen Stanford; grandchildren, Faith, Tori, Cody, R.J., and Elizabeth; great granddaughter, Lillie; and a great grandson on the way; nieces and nephews, and many more friends that will greatly miss and cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Stanford; and sister, Norma Stanford.
His family would like to extend a welcome invite to a graveside service that will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023, at Bear Creek Cemetery, located in Euless, Texas.
