William Stokes Obituary
Born October 12, 1942, in Lee County, he was a son of the late Arnold Claire Stokes and the late Johnnie Mae Wyndham Stokes. He was a small business owner and retired from the City of Sumter. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Loretta Stokes; nephews, Bobby A. "Chip" Stokes, Jr. (Lori), James Daniel "Danny" Stokes (Paige), and William H. "Will" Stokes (Shelly); five grand nieces and nephews; and five great grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby A. Stokes.
A graveside service will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2025, in the Sumter Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Mark Barnette.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the March of Dimes, marchofdimes.com.
