William M. Sudduth 83, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, January 13, 2025 in his residence following a brief illness. Born May 21, 1941 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Ralph and Beverly (Zobel) Sudduth. He was a 1959 graduate of Dennison High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. William retired as a Supervisor in 1993 from GTE in New Philadelphia and also retired in 2006 from Sprint in Wooster. William enjoyed coaching youth sports, was past president of the Claymont Booster Club and the Tornado Club and enjoyed golf and watching Ohio State football and all Cleveland sports teams. He was also an avid Massillon Tiger fan.
He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Leece, whom he married May 19, 1962. He is also survived by two children Tammi (Frank) Millin of Massillon and Michael (Chris) Sudduth of New Philadelphia; grandchildren Nicholas (Jordan) Millin of North Canton, Matthew Millin of Massillon, Jakob (Hannah) Sudduth of Mansfield, Lukas (Eva Marie) Sudduth of Dover and a brother in law Fred (Liz) Lecce of Dover.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Hiliary Ann and a grandson Anthony Michael.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dennison. The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements. To share a memory, please visit the funeral home's web site.
