William Morris Terry, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on October 21, 1950, in Calhoun City, Mississippi, William lived a life rich with love and laughter, rooted deeply in his family and the values he cherished.
William was a member of the Calhoun City First Baptist Church, where he gave his life to Christ. He was not only a man of faith but also a craftsman at heart, enjoying woodworking in his spare time, where he created beautiful pieces that will be treasured by his family for years to come. William had an appreciation for nature, often found riding his gator, marveling at the local wildlife, or quietly watching deer in his backyard. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his passion for maintaining a lush, pristine yard, where he took great pride in mowing and caring for his surroundings.
After a career as a maintenance worker for Calhoun County Schools, where he was known for his reliability and dedication, William embraced retirement, allowing more time to spend with his family. He especially treasured his role as Papaw, delighted by the laughter and joy of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were not just his family; they were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment he spent with them, especially his great grandchildren, Blayze, Walynn, Walker, Ivy-Kayte, and Elizabeth.
William is survived by his loving spouse, Rheba McClure Terry of Big Creek, MS; his daughter, Michelle (Donnie) Ruth of Calhoun City, MS; his son, William Charles "Chuck" (Jessica) Terry of Calhoun City, MS; his grandchildren, Jacob Terry of Pontotoc, MS; Taylor (Ashelin) Terry of Vardaman, MS; Anna Terry of Pontotoc; Brandon Ruth of Calhoun City, MS; Mollie Ruth of Calhoun City, MS and his sister, Margie Allen of Big Creek, MS. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to resonate within the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
William was preceded in death by his father: Charles Terry, mother, Clara Belle Butler Terry, and a sister, Charlsey Nix.
The family will receive friends at Parker Memorial Funeral Home on December 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on December 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM with Bro. Jimmy Vance and Dr. Chad Logan officiating. followed by burial in Pinecrest Memorial Garden. Chris Nix, Jeff Nix, Paul Nix, Brandon Ruth, Jacob Terry, and Taylor Terry will be serving as pallbearers. Ivy-Kayte Aaron, Elizabeth Aaron, Blayze Terry, Walker Terry, and Walynn Terry will be serving as honorary pallbearers
In this time of reflection, let us celebrate the life of William Morris Terry-a man whose warmth and kindness touched many, a craftsman, a nature lover, and a devoted family man whose memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
