William Stanley Thomas,86, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at his Ceres home with his family at his side.
Stanley was born on December 29, 1938 in Red Oak, Oklahoma to Tracy and William Thomas. Though Stanley moved to California as a young, child he stayed proud of his Oklahoma roots.
In 1957 Stanley graduated from Modesto High School where he excelled in track and field. He began working at Modesto Tobacco & Candy Company where he was a dedicated employee for 46 years.
It was on a blind date that he met the love of his life, Georgeanna Moss. They were married on October 14, 1966 and were blessed with 58 years of marriage. Together they purchased their first home in Ceres, California and that is where they raised their family.
In 1968 they welcomed their daughter Elizabeth Thomas, followed by their son William Thomas in 1969. Fatherhood came easily for Stanley with his deep loyalty to his children and family and his adventurous spirit. As their children grew, Stanley and Georgeanna enjoyed their years together vacationing, camping and spoiling the grandchildren.
Stanley leaves behind his wife Georgeanna Thomas, daughter Elizabeth Thomas (Greg), son William Thomas (Vickie), his 5 beloved grandchildren Justin Mott (Jessica), Bailey Taylor (Tyler), William Thomas (Priscilla), Hannah Hammerling (Cade) and Oliver Thomas. He had 3 great grandchildren Dayton Whatley, Emery Taylor and Isabella Mott.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tracy and William Thomas.
A celebration of Life will be held at Harvest Presbyterian Church in Ceres on Saturday June 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to their friends, family and Seva Hospice for their compassionate care for Stanley and the continual love and support to his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Stanley to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
