William Robert Ward

William Robert "Bobby" Ward, a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in San Antonio, at the age of 77. Born in San Antonio, Texas, to Edwin and Lucile Ward, Bobby was known for his unwavering love of family and his strong work ethic-qualities that set a lasting example for all who knew him.
Bobby spent his early years in San Antonio, Johnson City, and Boerne, graduating from Boerne High School in 1966. While still a senior in high school, he joined the Texas Air National Guard, where he proudly served for 39 years. His dedication and leadership culminated in his retirement as a Chief Master Sergeant-a testament to his commitment and integrity.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lucile Ward.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Gay Nell (57 years); his sons, Kristopher (Sharon) of San Antonio, TX, and Darren of Boerne, TX; his cherished grandchildren, Lauryn, Collin, and Kyle; and his brother, Clint of Bandera, TX.
Bobby's greatest joy was his family, and he treasured every moment spent with them. His compassion extended beyond people to animals, with a lifelong love for horses, dogs, and the many cats that shared his home.
