William Marshall Watkins, 89, of Laurens and husband of the late Marcia Cook Watkins, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Langston Square Assisted Living in Clinton.
Born in Laurens County, Marshall was the son of the late Danner Marshall and Sarah Jones Watkins. He retired from the Milliken Corporation, The Gilliland Plant. He had a love for music, playing the guitar, and was an artist. He could build and fix most anything and had a love for clocks, baseball and watching old movies.
Marshall is survived by his children, Leanne Watkins Maggard (Douglas), Kevin Marshall Watkins (Nancy), and Dawn Watkins Blackhurst (Tom); grandchildren, Tanya Eclavea, Tara Alexander (Brad), Kyle Watkins (Kelly), Austin Watkins (Harley) and Hartlee Cox (Chad); great grandchildren, Natalie Patterson (Chris), Connor Eclavea, Dillon Eclavea, Lillie Claire Eclavea, Graydon Watkins, Will Alexander, Addison Watkins, Camden Alexander, Collins Cox, and Riley Watkins; great-great grandchildren, Pressley Patterson, Lakelyn Patterson and Ellisyn Patterson; sister, Teresa W. Watkins of Bryson City, NC; brothers-in-law, Bruce Cook (Betty) and Garnett Bouknight (Wanda); and sister-in-law, Carolyn Cook.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Bonnie Bouknight and a brother-in-law, Kent Cook.
Marshall's second wife, Geri G. Watkins, and her son, Lynn Rushton, also predeceased him. Surviving are Geri's daughters, Kathy Callaway and Tammy Moriarty and their families.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, June 17, 2024, at Westview Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Heath Bowie and Mr. Doug Maggard. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the graveside service.
Memorials may be made to Crescent Hospice, 105 Lovett Drive, Greenville, SC 20607.
The family will be at the home of Marshall's daughter, Leanne Maggard.
