William "Fred" Watson, 69, of Cicero, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Born January 16, 1956, in Middletown, Ohio, Fred was the son of Willa Mae (Holcomb) McCarthy. A graduate of Middletown High School, he built a career as the owner and operator of his own construction company, where his work ethic and craftsmanship earned the trust of many.
Fred loved to work and took pride in a job well done. He also enjoyed classic cars, watching racing and listening to music - passions he shared freely with friends and family.
He is survived by two sons, Jason Watson of Lapel and Jeremy (wife, Betsy) Watson of Noblesville; a daughter, Kristen Iker of Seven Mile, Ohio. He was a proud grandfather to Owen Watson, Sedona Watson, Reed Watson, Jonah Watson, Eleanor Iker and Watson Iker. He is also survived by his brothers, Donnie Prince of Franklin, Ohio and Ron Prince of Middletown, Ohio; the mother of his children, Michelle McCune; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katie Beth Watson; his mother; and Stan Schumacher who was a father figure to him.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with time for family sharing.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
