March 31, 1942 – March 29, 2026
William Clark Whiddon, a man of integrity, entrepreneurial spirit, passed away peacefully at his home in Boynton Beach, Florida, on March 29, 2026—just two days shy of his 84th birthday.
Born on March 31, 1942, in Gainesville, Florida, Clark was a true son of the Sunshine State. He grew up in Gainesville, graduating from Gainesville High School before attending the University of Florida. A proud Gator, he earned his degree in Agriculture, a foundation that served him well throughout his diverse and successful professional life.
Clark began his career with The Coca-Cola Bottling Company, where he showed early leadership as the head of their syrup division. His sharp business acumen eventually led him to follow his own path as the owner and operator of his own vending companies, a venture he managed with the same dedication and work ethic that defined his character.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Jayne Whiddon.
Clark’s legacy lives on through his large family. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Virginia "Gina" Green of Jacksonville, FL, and Judith Ann Martin (Gary) of Hawthorne, FL.
He was a father and stepfather to:
Kathleen LaVie (Ronnie) of Boynton Beach, FL
William Clark Whiddon Jr. of Jupiter, FL
Lesley Virginia Crotts (Jon-Michael) of Winston-Salem, NC
Juli McGriff of Davenport, FL
He was a proud grandfather to Taylor Tilles, Zach Tilles, Shelby Whiddon, Clark Whiddon, Kylee McGriff, and Corbin McGriff.
In accordance with his wishes, Clark’s ashes, along with those of his late wife, Jayne, will be laid to rest together at Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida, returning him to the city where his journey began.
