William "Will" Michael Stephens, born on June 14, 1977, in Marianna, Florida, transitioned peacefully to his eternal home on March 2, 2025, in Smyrna, Tennessee, after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. Will’s unwavering spirit and faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ now bring him the healing he so deserved.
Growing up in Round Lake, Florida, Will graduated from Cottondale High School, where his ambitions and love for life began to take shape. From a young age, he found joy as a commercial fisherman, embracing the tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch. Later, Will moved to Tennessee, where he became an integral part of the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, managing the race track and grounds. He thrived in this environment, not only due to his love for the sport but also because of the wonderful people he met along the way. He also dedicated his time to UPS, where he continued to work hard and build lasting friendships.
Will's personality was defined by his loving, caring nature and strong will.
He was survived by two children, Trevor and Haylie, who were the light of his life. His companion of fifteen years, Tia Morgan; father, Johnny Stephens; mother, Melba Compton, three brothers, Matthew Stephens (Kristin), Christopher Stephens (Kellie), and Jeremiah Compton. In addition to his cherished family, he leaves behind a beloved fur baby, Skye, who provided him with comfort and companionship.
Will is preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty Jean Corbin, James Hubert Keel, Jaqueline Eloise Stephens, and Willam “Bill” Stephens, as well as his stepmother, Judy Stephens.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Will will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM Central Time at Cornerstone New Life Fellowship in Cottondale, Florida with Pastors Mark Blaylock and Lee Bennett officiating.
In remembrance of Will's journey, let us carry forward the lessons of love, perseverance, and unwavering faith that he imparted to all those around him. His memory will forever remain a guiding light, shining brightly in our hearts.
