On August 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his wife and family, Willie "Bill" Clifton Manson peacefully went home to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born on November 21, 1925, in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 65 years, Annie Mae Manson; his daughters, Carmen Morgan, and Audrey Feggans; and his son, Fernando Manson and grandson, Javon Crawley.

At just thirteen years old, Willie proudly and willingly joined the U.S. Navy, beginning a lifelong devotion to service. The Navy was his passion and calling. Throughout his distinguished career, he earned numerous medals and commendations, including the Good Conduct Medal (Fifth Award), Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Bill was a devoted provider, a man of great curiosity, and a lifelong learner. He had a love for dressing sharply, studying different languages, and exploring a variety of subjects that kept him well-versed and worldly. His interests spanned music, set design, and computer technologies-always eager to learn and share his knowledge.

In June 2018, Bill met his beloved Wilhelmenia. Guided by God's hand, they fell deeply in love and were married on August 8, 2018, at Mount Hermon Baptist Temple by Rev. Adrian M. Jones. Just weeks later, on August 30, 2018, Rev. Dr. Kevin Northan officiated a beautiful family-style celebration that united their families in love. To God be the glory!

Bill leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Wilhelmenia S. Manson; three sons, Peter, Antonio, and Santiantino; one sister, Annie Clanton; seven bonus children, Wilma, Juanita, Edward, Clara Maye, Essie Brown, and Jordan; and his cherished grandchildren-Faye Sloan, Marquitta Coleman, Mathaniel Chesson, Jacole Rankin, Brittany Hughes, Jazmyne Tribout, Amiya Feggans, Gabrielle, Miracle, and Emmanuel Morgan. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, a host of cousins, extended family, and countless dear friends whose lives were touched by his love, wisdom, and generosity.

Bill will be remembered as a proud veteran, a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, and a man who embraced life with faith, joy, and gratitude. His legacy of service, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. The family will receive fronds at the funeral home from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm, Friday, August 15, 2025. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
