Willie Lee Meadows, age 93, of Whitley City, Kentucky departed from this life on March 31, 2024, Easter Sunday at the Williamsburg Nursing Home.
She was born October 1, 1930, in Stearns, Kentucky to the late James William “Bill” and Nancy Strunk.
In addition to her parents, Willie is preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Ledford Meadows; daughter, Debbie Ann Meadows Gibson; son-in-law, Joe Byrd; sister, Gertie Mae Strunk; brother, Vernon “Bulldog” Strunk.
Willie is survived by her son, Ronnie and his wife Lee Meadows; daughter, Brenda Sue Byrd; son-in-law, Gary Gibson; sister, Katherine Strunk Tanner; grandchildren, Dana Gibson Cordell, Allen Gibson, Randy Meadows, Jamie Gibson Neeley, Timothy Meadows; 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law; Sally Ball and Mary Ball, along with a host of family and friends who will mourn her passing.
When she was young, she worked at the Stearns Motel and later for the Shirt Factory, where she retired. She was a hard worker, an awesome cook, she enjoyed her flowers, sewing and making her own curtains, yard sales and thrift stores, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family that she loved dearly. Willie was a member of the East Stearns Church of God. She will always be loved, never forgotten and forever missed.
Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Sim Thacker officiating. Burial to follow in the Osborne Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 noon until service time.
