Willie Moses

Mr. Willie Moses was born September 9, 1948 in Florence, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Mr. Wilbert and Gracie King Moses. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Mr. Willie attended Florence County Schools where he graduated in the Wilson High School Class of 1967. After completing high school, Mr. Willie was drafted into the United States Army. He served our country in the Vietnam War.  His life’s journey included employment for many years with Dupont, Socar and Honda of South Carolina.

Mr. Willie joined Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church as a child. He was active in church , where he served on the Trustee Board and the Men Chorus.

Mr. Willie was married to Gladys Durant on May 1, 1971 and to this union two children were born.

Mr. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Gracie King Moses; a daughter, Lachanda Moses; four brothers, Ulysses Moses, Cecil Moses, James Moses and Melvin Moses; and a sister, Edith Ellerbe.

Those left to cherish Willie’s precious memories are his loving wife of 52 years, Gladys; a son, Shawn Moses; two granddaughters, Ashanti Moses and Adrianna Moses; two grandsons, Odell Moses and Jaquan Godbolt; two brothers, Curtis (Miriam) Moses and Chester Moses; two sisters, Eula Moses Johnson and Janie (William) Fleming; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Moses and Betty Moses; one great aunt, Doorie Brunswick; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
