Willie Hill Oglesby, age 85, of Reform, AL passed away April 13, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating and Leslie Oglesby delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm Friday, April 15, 2022 at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rolston and Joe Earl Oglesby (Betty); sisters, Aline McDill (Clyde), Ira Mae Parker (Tillman) and Faye Cowart (Sonny); brothers-in-law, Reed Shaw, Cois Aldridge, Chester Shaw, Davis Shaw and James Aldridge, sister-in-law, Virginia Aldridge; nephews, Ronnie Shaw and Wayne Parker and nieces, Debra Luker, Nancy McDill and Barbara McDill.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Irene Shaw Oglesby; son, Jeffrey Oglesby (Donna) of Reform; brother, Leon Oglesby (Pat) of Carrollton; sisters, Minnie Aldridge of Reform and Betty Ann Sims (Mearl) of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Joey Shaw Oglesby (Tia) of Carrollton and Leslie Wade Oglesby (Anna-Kate) of Hattiesburg, MS; great-granddaughter, Etta Faith Oglesby; sisters-in-law, Lou Nell Aldridge of Kennedy and Dot Shaw of Columbus, MS and brother-in-law, Olen Aldridge of Aliceville.
Mr. Oglesby was born December 17, 1936 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Burman Oglesby and Adell Perrigin Oglesby. He was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church, a retired employee of Shaw's Wood Products and a veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard.
Pallbearers will be Joe Sanders, Jerry Aldridge, Brent Aldridge, Chad Jaggers, Lavern Cowart and Mike Oglesby.
Honorary Pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, Reform Senior Center and members of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Union Hill FWB Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Janice Lowe, 190 Herbert Windle Rd., Reform, AL 35481.
