It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, Willie Brown Rocher, who left us May 11th, 2025, at the age of 92. A decorated soldier, devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in Lynn Haven Florida, Willie exemplified courage, bravery and integrity throughout his life. He proudly served in The United States Army for 22 years, a tenure marked by his unwavering commitment to his country and fellow soldiers. As a veteran of the Vietnam War, he earned multiple honors, most relevant was the esteemed Purple Heart, a testament to his bravery and sacrifices while serving in combat.
Beyond retiring from the Army, and a full career post military, Willie was a loving husband to Rita R. Rocher who preceded him to heaven, after 65 years of marriage. A devoted father of two children, Mike Rocher of Lynn Haven, FL, and Kathy Williams of Mississippi. He has three grandchildren: Jonathan (Sarah) McAdam, Brandon (Courtney) McAdam, and Madison (Ben) Rocher McAdams. He also leaves behind a loving sister, Sally Wells, and wonderful brother Robert Rocher, sister-in-law Cindy Wainwright Rocher, and seven great grandchildren. Willie's large extended family includes his siblings and their family, who preceded him in passing, Martin (Nelly) Rocher, David (Donnis) Rocher, Helen (Russel) Rowley, Walter (Merle) Rocher, Herbert Rocher and sister-in-law Dorothy Rocher.
Willie was a member of The First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven, an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and camping enthusiast.
A graveside Military service will be held on June 7th, 2025, at 10:00 am at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Hwy 231
Panama City, Florida, friends and family are invited to celebrate and honor Willie. In honor of his service please donate to Tunnels to Towers (T2T.org), First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven or a favorite benevolent organization in lieu of flowers.
Willie will remain in the hearts of his niece, Sandra Wells, who played a significant role in managing his healthcare; his grandson, Jonathan McAdam, who demonstrated unconditional love and dedication; and his friends and staff at Brookdale Assisted Living in
Panama City, Florida. Their love and dedication are deeply appreciated and will always be remembered.
