Willie Roy Rogers

The family of Mr. Willie Roy Rogers gratefully acknowledges all expressions of sympathy shown during their time of bereavement and loss. May God continue to richly bless each of you.
Mr. Willie Roy Rogers, age 69, of Roxboro, NC, departed this life Friday, November 18, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Person County September 6, 1953 to the late James Henry and Doll Paylor Rogers and was a member of Mill Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers: Sergeant Christopher C. Rogers, Sr., Retired, Collie D. Rogers, Eulysess S. Rogers and Linwood J. Rogers.
He is survived by four sisters: Lizzie R. Williams of Newark, NJ, Inez R. Carter and Annie R, Bradsher, both of Roxboro, NC and Sally R. Jones (Alex) of Durham, NC; five brothers: James Goods, Henry D. Rogers (Carolyn), Austin C. Rogers and Lonnie T. Rogers, all of Roxboro and John Paul Rogers of Newark, NJ; and a host of other additional relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 1:00pm at Mill Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Frederick K. Wilson, Pastor, providing the eulogy and the Rev. Clevie Brandon, Pastor of Compassionate Ministries, presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, 1635 Mill Hill Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1:00pm to 6:00pm, with the family present during the last hour.
His body will lie in state Saturday at the church from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, one hour prior to the service.
Church protocol requires that all in attendance at the funeral wear masks.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Inez Carter, 1220 Halifax Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
