Willie Froyd Sneed went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on February 13, 1944. Known as Daddy to some and Peepaw to most, he will be missed by many. Peepaw grew up farming in the Mississippi Delta before moving his family to the Ozarks of Arkansas. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years (1962-1966). He had a knack for taking old, run down, rusty junk and turning it into something usable and for nursing sick cows back to health before taking them back to the sale barn. He often brought his grandchildren "treasures" that we learned not to ask where they came from! He loved Jesus and preached to us often. He was not shy to lovingly tell us where we needed to improve in our lives, and he also made it clear how much he loved each of us. He was full of biblical and practical knowledge and shared both freely with anyone who was willing to listen. He loved people and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jeslyn Sue Sneed, children, Pam Cooley (Barry), Shayne Pankey (Kevin), Jason Sneed (Andrea), grandchildren, Jeslyn Haynes (Cody), Shauna Henderson (Matt), Ethan Haynes (Kandyce), KK Cooley, Ryann, Brynn and Lane Sneed, great-grandchildren, Lynlee Haynes, Jordy and Grady Henderson, and Collin and Carter Haynes, brother, Jimmy Sneed (Dinah) as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Durley (Grandy) and Reba (Nana) Sneed.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
