Elder Glenn “Willie” Williams, age 83, of Roosevelt, passed away January 2, 2025, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.
He was born September 30, 1941, in Gridley, California, to George and Catherine Guthrie Williams. He married Reba Bunton, and they later divorced. He married Beth DeNece Winn, on June 28, 1963, in Reno, Nevada. They were later sealed on November 2, 1996, in the Manti Temple, and she died on December 8, 2014.
Willie worked in the oil and gas industry most of his life and did just about every job there was to do in that field. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and team roping in local rodeos. After retirement, he and DeNece spent the winters in Arizona, and the summers as camp hosts all over the Western United States. They loved all of the time they were able to spend in the mountains and meet with various people from around the world.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various calling throughout the years, including as a member of a bishopric. He was very straight forward and you always knew where you stood with him. He loved his spending time with his family.
Willie is survived by his children, Raymond Williams, Tucson, AZ; Connie Taylor, Huntington Beach, CA; Lonnie Williams, North Dakota; Linda (Gary) Harmon, Roosevelt; Melissa Williams, Gusher; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Williams; 19 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews, and his fur baby, Tippie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beth DeNece Williams; a son, Ron Williams; granddaughter, Sabrina Williams; grandsons, Anthony Watkins & Derrick Williams; 5 Angel great-grandbabies, including Burklee Ann & Rozee J. Williams; siblings, W.E., Will, & Amos Youngblood; Peter & LeRoy Gates; Carl Williams; and his fur baby, Sandie.
