Willie B. Wilson of South Boston, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the age of 82. Born in Red Bank, Virginia on March 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Page Buchanan and Gertrude Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Wilson and son, Kenneth Ray Wilson.
Willie loved spending time with her family, attending Grace Baptist Church, going out to eat, shopping, visiting and taking trips with close friends. She provided a home, meals and a livelihood to many people throughout the years. Many significant relationships were formed as a result of the farming and transport businesses in the South Boston area.
She is survived by her son, William (Amy) Wilson; daughter, Beverly (Bill) Wood; grandchildren, Kelly, Kaitlin (Tyler), Tyler, and Chase (Jessica) Wilson; great granddaughters, Elena and Kallan Conner; great grandson, Michael Wilson; sisters, Lavern Humphries and Nell (Phillip) Thaxton; her special friend, Woodrow Milam; and so many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, husband and son, she was preceded in death by brothers, Oscar, Edison and Paige Buchanan.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church.
Willie was a cancer survivor and at her request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Halifax County Cancer Association, PO Box 1891, Halifax, VA 24558.
