Willie Winters

Willie Winters, age 89, entered the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Presidential Post Acute.
On July 13, 1936 Willie was born in Ruleville, Mississippi. The son of the late Samuel Winters and Pearle Cosey. Willie attended Ruleville High School. After graduating high school, Willie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
On August 13, 1960 Willie married his soulmate, Juila L. (Collins) Winters. The loving couple shared 49 unforgettable years together.
Willie will be remembered as the heart of his family and a man whose love was felt most clearly around the table. As the family's cook, especially at backyard barbecues, Willie had a gift for bringing everyone together with food made from care, patience, and pride. Those gatherings were never just about the meal-they were about laughter, stories, and the sense of belonging he created so effortlessly.
Known affectionately as the "chess master," Willie enjoyed the strategy, focus, and quiet challenge of the game. Whether teaching others or thoughtfully planning his next move, chess reflected his sharp mind and calm, steady nature.
Above all else, Willie cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He delighted in their company, shared wisdom in simple moments, and created memories that will live on in their hearts. His presence was steady, loving, and full of warmth qualities that defined his life and legacy.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved children: Dennis L. Winters and Darryl M. Winters Sr.; 4 grandchildren: Darryl (Samantha) Winters II, Da'Vell (Keenyn) Winters, and Dorian (Joseph) Winters-Conkle, and Celeste Winters; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Juila L. Winters; and son, Duane Winters.
Funeral Ceremony will be at 11AM on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church; 475 E Fairground St, Marion, OH 43302. Graveside Service to follow at Chapel Heights.
