Willine Wybenga Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. Lilburn-Tucker Chapel on Nov. 10, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Willine Mae Frietchen Wybenga, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, age 102; beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on November 8, 2025. She was born on June 10, 1923, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to Catherine (Albright Barbrick) and William Frietchen. Her life was shaped by a deep commitment to faith.
A lifelong homemaker, Willine loved cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting afghans, and completing creative projects like doll cakes. She read her Bible and was an active participant on church committees. She enjoyed playing with her Siamese cats and doting on her grandchildren: enjoying their many activities, seeing them graduate from college and watching them get married.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, John Wybenga, and her siblings Luella, Fred, and William Frietchen Jr. Willine will be sorely missed by her son Erwin (Mary) Wybenga, her daughter Nancy Heitzenrater, her grandchildren: Doug (Amanda) Johnson and Katie (Benni Benthien) Wybenga and loving relatives: Kristine (Adam) Clark, Haley Clark, and David Heitzenrater, her in-laws: Ray, Joan Wybenga and Anna Rood; and many nieces and nephews that held her so dear; her special friends in Georgia: Vicki (Christopher) Fontana, Lois (Hal) Rodgers, Lilly Yin and Steven Guangwen and the many others whose lives she touched during her 102 years on this earth.
Willine's life was marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many hearts she touched across more than a century of life.
A Celebration of Life for Willine will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the Bill Head Funeral Home Chapel (6101 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084) at 3:00 p.m., with visitation prior from 1:00-2:30 in designated room.
Willine will be buried with her husband, John, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton
