Wilma "Joyce" McCulloch, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, in
Greensboro, NC, at the age of 91. Born on August 12, 1933, in Nashville, TN, she lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others.
Joyce's professional journey was marked by her steadfast work ethic and commitment to excellence. She began her career as a secretary and bookkeeper at Pilot Life Insurance Co., working alongside Ralph Price. Her passion for music and broadcasting led her to manage WQMG 97.1 FM and Crescent City Sound Studios for two decades, where she left an indelible mark on the industry and inspired many with her leadership.
Beyond her professional achievements, Joyce was deeply devoted to her community. She tirelessly fundraised for New Garden Friends School and the Eastern Music Festival, demonstrating her unwavering belief in the power of education and the arts. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a cherished member of College Place United Methodist Church, having accepted Christ in 1981.
Joyce was preceded in death by her loving parents, Wilma and WB McCulloch, and her husbands, Charles B. Webster, whom she married on May 5, 1949, and Richard Beidler, whom she married on March 6, 1975. Her legacy continues through her surviving family: her daughters, Patricia Anne Hale and Deborah Joyce Webster; her brother, John McCulloch; her sister, Ruth Gentry; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Joyce's life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and grace. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and inspiration. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Her family invites those who knew her to celebrate her life by continuing her work of love and service in their own communities.
