She was raised in Niangua, MO and graduated from Niangua High School. Marie was united in marriage to John Day on May 14, 1949. She is survived by her two daughters, Diana Campbell, and husband Steve, and Martha Webb; brother Fred Letterman, and wife Carol; four granddaughters, Amber Herring, and husband Kent; Brett Havel, and husband Gerrod; Lindsey Dawson, and husband Shane; and Sarah Thomas, and husband Kelly; and eight great-grandchildren, Blake and Kail Herring, Ashlynn and Quentin Havel, Adley and Daxen Dawson, and William and Hayden Thomas.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, Friday, May 2, 2025 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. A Celebration of Life will start at 1:30 pm with burial to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Springfield, MO.
