Wilma Frisbee, age 83, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
She was a member of Edgemont Church of God where she had served in Women's Discipleship as president and secretary and had taught Sunday School for 30 years. She loved teaching young children about Jesus.
She was employed by Magnavox for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Frisbee; mother Nancy Wilson; father, Eldridge Wilson; sisters and brothers-in-law Vera and Dallas Shults, Patsy and Kiff Sutton, and Martha and Fred Evans; brothers-in-law Charles Sutton and J.C. Mathis.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Mike Hensley of Newport; grandson Chris (Phylicia) Gurley of Newport; great-grandchildren Nevaeh Gurley, Taylor Gurley, C.J. Gurley, and Lillian Gurley of Newport; sisters Carolyn Sutton of Sevierville, Ruth Mathis of Cosby, and Judy (Lonnie) Ottinger of Parrottsville; brothers J.D. Wilson (Lou), Jackie (Sheri) Wilson, and Junior (Cheryl) Wilson all of Cosby; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Gail Frisbee of Parrottsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special friends that she was so lucky to have from school until now, Pat Martin and Arona Shoemaker.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2025 in the Manes Funeral Home West Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 7 p.m. Friday in the Manes Funeral Home West Chapel with Randall Frisbee and Tim Owens officiating.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
