Willa Mae Beddingfield Dellinger, 93, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at Greens of Gastonia. She also lived at Brookdale Robinwood for 12 years and really enjoyed her time there. Our family is very thankful for the staff at Brookdale and for taking such good care of our Mother.
She was born in Gaston County on June 4, 1932, to the late James and Juanita Beddingfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dalton Rodney Dellinger; two sons, Glenn Scott Dellinger and Randy Dean Dellinger as well as two sisters, Linda Habitreitzer and Delores Ledwell.
Willa retired from Pharr Yarns in 1994 where she was a dedicated employee, who prided herself in her work, by taking on multiple duties and responsibilities throughout years of employment.
Willa was an avid walker and often joined group initiatives to walk for health challenges.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Dellinger, Cynthia Dellinger Calhoun, Jay Dellinger (Donna); and a very special surrogate daughter, Abby Gathings; brother, Glenn Beddingfield; and sister, Maxine Massey. Willa was committed to her family and taking care of children. She had nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be announced at a later date.
She will be cremated and join her loving husband in Ocean Woods Cemetery, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
