Wilma Pearl Holcomb McCann was born December 17, 1928, in Byrd, Texas and passed December 30, 2023, in Huntsville, Texas having moved there to be near her sons. Her family, parents, and siblings moved to Emhouse in 1934. Wilma graduated from Emhouse high school in 1946. She married Esco L. McCann in 1947 and have been together for 64 years. She was a stay-at-home mom until 1957 when she went to work at the CISD tax office. In 1960, she went to work for Elliot and Oldroyd Insurance, and later to be named Oldroyd Insurance and Bookkeeping. Wilma worked there until retiring in 1985. She enjoyed working on the ranch, gardening, and most of all fishing. She had been a member of Emmanuel Baptist before moving to Pursley Baptist. After moving back to Corsicana and joining First Baptist in 2003 and was a member of the Ruth S.S. Class.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Troy Holcomb and Mae Armstrong Holcomb, her husband Esco McCann, sister Sunshine Mott, brothers Troy Holcomb Jr., and Roy Don Holcomb.
She is survived by her sons Raymond McCann and wife Judy, Royce McCann and wife Mary. Five grandchildren Carol Rae Busby, John B. McCann, Allison McCann-Hall, Mathew R. McCann, and Terri McCann-Escalante. Twelve great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Pat Holcomb, Christine Holcomb, Jimmie McCann, Linda Harrison and husband Bill, brothers-in-law T. Ray McCann and wife Sandee and Gene McCann.
Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2024, from 1-2 pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be officiated by her nephew Tracy Holcomb. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons John McCann, Mathew McCann, Parker McCann, Griffin McCann, Brecket McCann, Connor Hagan, Ian McCann, and Esco McCann.
