Wilma J. Shively, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 3, 2025. She was born on July 6, 1943, to Bill and Alice Shively in Grand Rapids, MI. Wilma graduated from Fremont High School and called West Michigan home throughout her life. On November 15, 2019, she married the love of her life, Joseph Sorensen, and together they shared several wonderful years filled with love and laughter until his passing on August 28, 2022. Wilma was a talented crafter with a special gift for crocheting, which she joyfully shared with friends. She loved camping and found peace in the simple beauty of nature. Known for her zest for life and outgoing spirit, Wilma had the rare ability to make friends wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Wilma is survived by her two sons, Warren "Butch" Kroll and Timothy Kroll; daughter, Tracy Reynolds; numerous grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and one-great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Rhonda, Roxie and Sharon; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Sorensen; brother, Bill; and three sisters, Sandra, Lunata and Phyllis. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, with visitation one-hour prior. Wilma will be laid to rest at Egelston Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in her honor can be directed to the family.
