Wilma Kimbro Smith, age 86, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 4:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Mr. Josh Page will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the funeral home.

Wilma was born in Buford, Georgia to Price and Mae Kimbro. She was the youngest of 4 siblings who all preceded her in death. Ruby and CJ Mathis, Leon and Gladys Kimbro, Gene and Joann Kimbro.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Jerry Smith as well as her first husband, Gene Charles.

She is survived by her daughters Connie and Dennis Doster, Melodi and Freddie Gault. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Kyle and Amber Doster, Baylor, Berkeley and Boone; Kacy and Andrew Claxton, Karsyn and Harper; Jon Nick and Mallory Gault, Sienna; Kameron and Tasha Doster, Charlie; Jacob and Courtney Gault, Lakelyn.

Wilma was a 1957 graduate of Buford High School and was her class Salutatorian and a Buford Cheerleader. She also went back to college and obtained her associates degree.

She started working at a young age and held many jobs. Most of her adult working years were for American Cyanamid/Lederle Labs. After retiring she worked for Gwinnett County Fire and loved being mom to all the recruits. This was her favorite job.

Wilma loved sports, gardening, cooking, music and dancing. Her greatest love was all her family. She enjoyed many family trips and loved supporting all the grandkids and great grands.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in her honor to a church of your choice. Also, feel free to honor her by wearing her favorite team attire to the service. Braves, Georgia Bulldogs or her beloved Buford Green.
