Wilma Arlene (Arnold) Timmons, 87, was born April 15, 1937, and passed into glory on July 3, 2024, in McKinney, Texas. Wilma’s children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She delighted in them and loved them deeply. Wilma worked at Texas Instruments, building educational products for many years. Her favorite hobby, from age twelve, was crocheting. People marveled at how her fingers flew as she created beauty from a hook and ball of yarn.
Wilma is preceded in death by her father, Archie Arnold; her mother, Zada Andrews; her brothers, William “Bill” Arnold and James “Jim” Arnold; her daughter, Linda Jean Clark; her sons, Kenneth “Ken” Earl Potter, Jr and James “Jim” Emmett Potter; and her granddaughter, Bobbye Jean Jolly. She is survived by her daughter, LaKrisha Compton, her son-in-law David, and their daughters Kiersten and Kaitlyn Compton of McKinney, TX; and her grandson, Shawn Clark, his wife Tisha, and their children, Scarlette and Dorian Clark.
Funeral services will be held July 22, 2024, at 11 AM at Combest Family Funeral Home, 2210 Broadway, Lubbock, TX. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th Street, Lubbock, TX.
The pallbearer's will be Shawn Clark, Eli Olbera, Eli Olbera, Jr., Christopher Trevino, Steve Parrish and Hector Tavera.
In lieu of flowers, Wilma’s family requests donations in remembrance of Wilma Timmons to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
