Wilma Rose Tompkins, 69, of Naylor, GA, died on Thursday, July 11, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida following a lengthy illness. She was born on May 22, 1956, in Monterey, Tennessee. Wilma had been employed with Crackin' Good Bakery until it's closing, then went to work with Lowe's where she worked in the garden center. Her love of being outdoors served her well in the garden center and she made many friends in her 17 plus years with Lowe's. Wilma enjoyed going to the beach, loved to travel, and adored her grandchildren who meant the world to her.

She is survived by her husband, Preston Tompkins of Naylor; two daughters and a son-in-law, Julie Davis of Jamestown, Tennessee and Brandi and Bryan Jones of Naylor; her grandchildren, Wheeler Smith, Malcolm Jones and Marion Jones; an aunt, Juanita Taylor and family. She was preceded by her mother, Lena Bell Goney.

A graveside service for Wilma Rose Tompkins will be held at 10am for Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Moultrie. The family will receive friends the evening prior to the service from 5-7 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Georgia. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
