Wilmar Ernest Haubenstricker

Haubenstricker, Wilmar Ernest of Mt. Morris, age 89, died Monday, July 7, 2025, at his home with family bedside. Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm, Friday, July 11, 2025, at Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing, MI. Chaplain Craig Morre will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral service and final interment in Flushing Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, Clio, MI.
Wilmar was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 20, 1936, the son of Lorenz and Helen (Bauer) Haubenstricker. He married the love of his life Joyce Quellette on April 18, 1959, in Saginaw. Wilmar served in the U.S. Army prior to meeting Joyce. He was employed by S & M Lumber for over 35 years. Wilmar was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Flushing where he belonged to the Promise Keepers and was currently a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. Wilmar was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed college basketball, especially MSU and U of M. He was a handyman who could fix anything and gladly performed any home improvement project for his wife and family. He was especially proud of a business venture with his grandchildren Andrew and Aaron Armbruster. Wilmar hand built custom furniture that Andrew and Aaron would market, sell and ship nationwide. Wil and Joyce enjoyed visiting family for special occasions throughout the country as well as tourist destinations, with a favorite being theTawas area overlooking Lake Huron.
Wilmar is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce; daughter, Tami (Ray) Armbruster; sons, Tim Haubenstricker, Terry Haubenstricker, Todd (Mildred) Haubenstricker; grandchildren, Andrew (Xiuxiu) Armbruster, Aaron (Magda) Armbruster, Alex (Laura) Armbruster, Anna Haubenstricker, Amy Haubenstricker, Jack Haubenstricker, Ean Haubenstricker, Prissy Haubenstricker, Adam Haubenstricker, Sarah (David) House, Trevor (Kaytlen Judin) Haubenstricker, Alexis (Jordan) Haubenstricker, Tyler (Elise) Haubenstricker, Toni (Devon) Roddel; several great-grandchildren; and brother, Harvey Haubenstricker. He was preceded in death by his son, Jon in 1995; sister, Marion Legault; brothers, Martin Haubenstricker, and Edward Haubenstricker; and his parents.
The family would especially like to thank the Gentiva Hospice staff for going above and beyond with their loving kindness towards Wilmar, Joyce and family.
