Wilson proudly served as a tugboat captain for 35 years, guiding vessels with skill and steadiness through the waterways he knew so well. His career was a reflection of his character-steady, dependable, and built on a deep sense of responsibility.
After retiring from life on the water, Wilson found joy in the simple pleasures of home. He was an amazing cook who loved preparing meals for his family and friends, especially if it meant bringing people together around a table. In his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting, spending time in nature, and sharing stories from those days.
Wilson had a passion for a well-kept yard. Known for mowing his lawn three times a week-sometimes more-he took great pride in maintaining his home and creating a peaceful, welcoming space. He also loved riding around grandkids, nieces and nephews on his 4-wheeler.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and the importance of taking pride in the everyday life. His presence, sense of humor, and deep commitment to family will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Virginia Hebert Hollier of Forked Island; three sons, Jeffery Hollier of Forked Island, Johnathan and Jacob Hollier both of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Tandra Rodriguez of Port Aransas, TX; one sister, Helen Broussard of Forked Island; two brothers, Walton Hollier Jr. of Forked Island and John Dolis Hollier of Kaplan; three grandchildren, Ashlee Sands, Andrew Sands and Blake Hollier; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walton Hollier and the former Enice Lege; and three grandchildren, Kassia Williams, Rochelle Hollier and Dylan Hollier.
