Windell Duckworth Turks, was born on April 22, 1957 to the late Claudia Turk Myers and Alford Watson.
At an early age he united with St. Paul A. M. E. Church, Snow Hill, Alabama. He began his education at Snow Hill Institute, Snow Hill, Alabama until the school was closed in 1973. From there he attended W. J. Jones High School for two years where he was a graduate member of the Class of 1976. After graduating from high school he decided to enlist with the United Stated Army. Upon completion of his service to the United States Government, he decided to make New Britain, Connecticut his place of residence, but he most certainly did not forget where his true home was "SNOW HILL, ALABAMA".
He was preceded in death by his, parents, Claudia (James Myers) & Alford Watson, Grandparents: Catherine & David Turk, Sr., brother; Dan Turk, sister; Miranda Faye Myers. Aunts; Jessie T. (Sammy Young), Eula C. (Sterling Harris), Helen T. (Calvin Hughes, Sr.), Ola Mae (Junious Bonner), Uncles; Jasper Turk, David Turk, Jr., Leone Turk and Ira Lee Turk (Bessie). James, Gerald, and Patrick Bonner and Delphine Blackmon; God-daughter Lakeisha Bonner Coleston.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Sapora "Lee" Turks. In this union he reared one son; Robert Wilson and two grandchildren Antonio and Sierra Wilson.
He was employed by Plainville Plating Company, Incorporated in Plainville, CT for 39 years as a "Plater".
On Monday, October 9, 2023, one (1) day after marking his 39th year of employment at Plainville Plating, Windell made his transition from earth to glory where he exchanged his mortal vestments for a garment of everlasting life.
He leaves to cherish life precious memories a Step-son; Robert Wilson, Grandchildren; Antonio Gomez, New Britain, CT, Sierra Wilson, Orlando, FL and Rylee Wilson of Bristal, CT.
