Beverly Hope Welch was born on April 5, 1941, in Montego Bay, Jamaica and was welcomed by her parents Kenneth Dell, Amy Wilson, Grandmother Madeline Mills, and sister Yvonne Dell. She attended Northwestern Academy High School in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Beverly accepted the Lord at the age of 13 and has walked with Him ever since. Her closest childhood friends extended into adulthood and became long distance relationships, but she cherished them. She met her late husband Morgan John Welch in 1973. The two would become married in the year 1974 at the Faith Assembly of God Church. Their first child, Dionne Joy Welch, would be welcomed into the world in the year 1975 and their second child Andre Morgan Welch would be born in the year 1976. Her husband, however, would pass away in the year 1978, making her a single parent. She would never remarry.
At the age of 5, Beverly would announce to her family that she wanted to be a "Nurt" (Nurse) and made this a reality after graduating from Hertford County Hospital in Hertfordshire, England, as a State Registered Nurse in 1968. Beverly grew to become full of life and purpose. She loved to care for others and dedicated 50 years of her life to nursing.
Beverly loved to cook and occasionally baked. She was famously known for her Waldorf salad, rice & peas, barbecue turkey wings, oxtails, Jamaican fruit cake and sweet potato pudding. She loved to laugh and shared her wit and humor with everyone she came in contact with. Beverly was a very giving person and always gave whenever there was one in need regardless of whether or not they asked. She loved music and loved to sing and also sang in the choir.
Beverly was a devout Christian and loved to share her faith especially with her children raising them up in the way that they should go. She was an opportunist and used many moments to share her radical faith with her children. There was a time when the elementary school that her children attended began to offer school jackets and would be raffling one off to one of the students. She could only afford one and decided to pay for her daughter to receive a jacket. She then gathered together her two little ones and told them that they were going to pray and believe God for the other jacket for her son and sent them off to school. To the children's surprise her son's name would be announced as the winner of the raffle for a school Jacket. This incident and many other wonders never left their minds as she was determined to raise her children up in the fear of the Lord. At the time of her passing she was a member of the Jimmy Swaggart Media church and member of the Family Worship Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Dionne J. Welch; Son, Andre M. Welch; grandchildren, Machaiah R. Welch and Presley S. Welch; sisters, Yvonne Scott, (Husband) Hudson Scott; nieces, Michele Rivera, (Husband) Oscar Rivera, Naomi Howell, Audrey Shirley (Husband) Andral Shirley, Janine Wilson, (Husband) Johnny Wilson, Imani Dell, Selima Dell, Jamila Dell, Jayla Dell, Jayme Dell and Nicole; brother, Joseph Dell (Brother) and Jaclyn Dell (Wife); nephews, Russell Scott, Joshua Scott, (Wife) Jervimi Scott, Wendell Dell, William Dell, Anthony Welch and (wife) Vikki Welch, Orain Howell, Andre and Pierre Shirley.
